STUDENT'S COUNCIL INAUGURATION - 2023-2024 MARKS A NEW CHAPTER
In an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and anticipation, the student council inauguration ceremony was held at Government Namakkal Medical College and Hospital on 13th May 2023.
The event served as a platform to celebrate the democratic spirit, honor student leaders, and pave the way for a vibrant and inclusive academic year. The inauguration embodied the ideals of student representation, collaboration, and community engagement.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome extended to esteemed chief guests our Honourable Minister for forest DR.M.MATHIVENTHAN sir, our
Respected MP Thiru. K.R.N.RAJESHKUMAR sir, our Namakkal MLA Thiru P.RAMALINGAM sir and our beloved Dean Mam Dr.K.SANTHA ARULMOZHI Mam ,Medical Superintendent Sir DR.R.GUNASEKRAN and Vice Principal DR.S.VENKATA SUBRAMANIYAN,DEPUTY Superintendent Dr.SURESHKANNAN faculty members, and fellow students.
The event started with தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்து by our first year Students .
The lighting of the lamp by the chief guest marks the beginning of the event, infusing it with positive energy .
Our function witnessed a breathtaking solo Bharatanatyam performance by SHARINI ,our 2nd year student that left the audience spellbound.Whether depicting the mischievousness of Lord Krishna or the grace of Goddess Parvati, she transported us into a world where gods, goddesses, and mythical beings came alive.
WELCOME SPEECH
Agalya ,our Tamil Mandram Secretary gave a warm welcome to our chief guest, starting her speech by
"பூவோடு சேர்ந்த நாராய் உங்களுடன் சேர்ந்தோம் நூறாய்!" .
She possesses a unique talent for weaving words together, transforming mere sentences into powerful messages that resonate deep within our hearts and minds.
Our Dean Mam highlighted the chief guest's journey as an example of the potential that lies within each student. By sharing anecdotes, personal experiences, and lessons learned, the speech aimed to ignite the flame of ambition, encouraging students to embrace challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination.
THE STUDENT COUNCIL
The focal point of the ceremony was the installation of the newly selected student council members. The investiture ceremony highlighted the values of leadership, responsibility, and commitment.
Each council member got batch from the Chief Guest as a dedicated advocate for their fellow students, for their concerns and work towards enhancing the academic and extracurricular experience.
2ND YEAR DEPARTMENTS :
The second year of medical school is a transformative period, where students delve into the realms of Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Community Medicine. These departments lay the foundation for understanding diseases, drug therapy, and infectious agents.
By exploring these subjects, students gain essential knowledge and skills that will shape their medical careers. Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology,Community Medicine serve as the building blocks that enable medical professionals to make accurate diagnoses, prescribe appropriate treatment, and effectively manage patient care.
VAAGAI: Unveiling the Bright Future - Inauguration of the Junior Batch
The senior students extended a warm welcome, embracing the newcomers with open arms and introducing them to the rich heritage and vibrant culture of the college.The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and camaraderie, as the juniors felt an instant sense of belonging and a warm speech by KANISHKA about the main motto of VAAGAI.
THEME:
- The word vaagai itself means victory.It is one of those trees that purifies the air.
Magilam Ecoclub:
GREENARY IN BRAINERY
That sounds like a wonderful event! The inauguration of the ecoclub named Magilam in the student council, with the theme of "Greenary in Brainery," is a great initiative to promote environmental awareness and sustainability among college students. The student council's generous grant facilitated the birth of this club, bringing together passionate individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on our campus and beyond. With a plethora of exciting initiatives and a vibrant community of eco-warriors, Magilam is set to spearhead a green revolution that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
THEME:
"Caring a tree is caring of your soul".
- Magilam known as Mimusops Elangi ,is a medium sized evergreen tree.The barks,flowers,fruits and seeds of this tree are used as Astringent, Tonic,Antihelminthic,In Dental Ailment .
Understanding it's importance and uses ,We the students of GNMCH have named our ECOCLUB as MAGILAM and Themed a unique motto GREENARY IN BRAINERY [கல்லூரிக்குள் கானகம்]

PUBLISHING YEARLY MAGAZINE :
One of the most eagerly anticipated events in the student council calendar is the inauguration of the yearly magazine release. This momentous occasion brings together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the culmination of creative endeavors, showcasing the talents and accomplishments of the college community.

VIRCHAM -Virtue of making hands
The event inaugurated a remarkable initiative named "Virucham" – a supporting team dedicated to providing financial assistance to students.It encourages faculty, and other stakeholders to support the students.

- Virucham is the root from branches to the ground, symbolises the support.Virucham marks a significant milestone in the journey towards providing equal educational opportunities for all students.

The function ended with NATIONAL ANTHEM by 2nd year Students.

Celebrating the Unsung Heros:
Behind the scenes, there is a dedicated group of individuals KALAIMANI ,DEEPAN VERESVARAN,SAKTHI BALA,PRADEEP our 2nd year Students who work tirelessly to make it all possible—the technical team.Their attention to detail and meticulous planning contribute to the seamless flow of the event.
From the infectious laughter to the heartfelt speeches, from the exhilarating performances to the spontaneous interactions, every significant moment was expertly captured by Vijay ,our 1st year student.
CONTRIBUTIONS OF NSS CLUB :
From the initial planning stages to the execution of the event, their dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and organizational skills were evident throughout. The NSS Secretary VERSA and club members worked tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the function was well-coordinated and executed flawlessly.
The ceremony served as a reminder of the immense potential within every student and the importance of their collective voices. As the newly selected student council takes charge, they hold the responsibility to be the catalysts of positive change and ensure the holistic growth and development of the student body.
