A Quiz Program was conducted by our passionate DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY on 03.05.2023.It was a special occasion offered by the DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY and students of 1 st year actively participated. 

The momentous event was presided by Our beloved Dean mam Prof. Dr. K. SANTHA ARULMOZHI M.D., C. A ,honored as guest and graced the gathering. 

  HOD of Anatomy Dr. S. DHIVYA  (Anatomy) mam, HOD of Pathology  Dr.RAMESH Sir ,HOD of Pharmacology  Dr .SARAVANAN Sir ,and our Pharmacology department   gathered as guest  and delivered an inspiring motivation and encouraged us .

The organizing committee, HOD of the Biochemistry Prof. Dr. Leena Devi M. D., mam , Associate Professor Dr. G. Ganesh M. D sir, and other assistant professors Dr. A. Mary Arul Priya M. D, mam, Dr. R. Praba M. D mam, Dr. B. Shobana M. D., mam, Dr. V. Hariraj M. D, sir, Dr. M. Ganeshan M. D sir were also present. 

The students of 1 st and 2 nd year also gathered as audience to encourage the participants.

The department of Biochemistry Welcomed medical students, to the captivating world of biochemistry!  The participants dove  into the exhilarating quiz program called "Bet the Met," where contestants battled their wits and knowledge to showcase their understanding of the intricate molecular mechanisms and processes that govern life. 

 "Bet the Met" serves as an exciting platform for biochemistry enthusiasts to showcase their expertise and passion for the subject. Through various rounds encompassing the basics, enzymology, metabolism, molecular genetics, and practical applications, contestants embark on a thrilling journey through the intricate world of biochemistry.

As we witness the captivating display of knowledge and intellectual prowess, we gained a deeper appreciation for the wonders of biochemistry. 

The "Bet the Met" quiz program, where passion, curiosity, and scientific excellence converge to shed light on the mysteries of life at the molecular level.

The competitive event begins with a energetic welcome address given by the Associate Professor of Biochemistry Dr.G.Ganesh M.D sir.

There were 8 different ROUNDS in the quiz program and each round was conducted by our determined professors of DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY.

• CLINICAL ASPECTS round
• RAPID FIRE round
• CONNEXION round
• PICTURE round.

On Inauguration of every round, the genral instructions were read out clearly to the participants.

THRILL OF COMPETITION:

One of the most captivating aspects of the college quizzes is the intense competition that unfolds. As participants take their position on the stage, their heart race with anticipation, and their minds prepare for the battle of wits. The adrenaline rush that accompanies each question creates an electric atmosphere, igniting the spirit of healthy competition. 

The pressure to provide quick and accurate answers pushes participants to think on their feet, enhancing their problem- solving abilities and honing their decision- making skills.

SPECIAL MENTION - SENIORS CONTRIBUTIONS:

Interestingly, The students of 2 nd year SHAYAM,DHAYANITHI SRIRAM, GOPINATH,GOWATHAM BALAJI,  ANBAZHAGAN showed a eager participation by conducting several rounds to their juniors. They also put immense efforts to make this quiz program enjoyable to both participants and audience. 

Surprisingly, there were AUDIENCE ROUND also, the students of the 2 nd year passionately participated and had given the correct answers. The active participation of them thrilled the hall. 

WINNERS 🏆 

Finally, a moment later the results were announced and it's pleasure to share that, 

TEAM 1 Carbivores Won  1 st place. 

TEAM 5 Quizzozymes won 2 nd place. 

TEAM 4 Proton Bumpers won  3rd place. 

They all were rewarded with certificates and booms which motivated them to progress further. Other teams were also rewarded with certificates and consolation gifts. 

The program ended with a warm vote of thanks given by Assistant Professor Dr. R. Praba M. D, mam. 

Quizzes are undoubtedly thrilling experiences, they also served as valuable educational tools. Participants are exposed to plethora of information, both during the preparation phase and the actual quiz itself.
